LMS Season 3 GW5 Preview

GW5 is about to start, and at the time of writing this is how it stands…

Adrian Pound, Paul Ridgewell and Dave Lawrence have all backed Liverpool who are at home to Burnley. Liverpool remain without Mohamed Salah because of a thigh injury, while Kostas Tsimikas and Dominik Szoboszlai are fitness doubts. Wataru Endo has returned from the Asian Cup but Ibrahima Konate is suspended and Conor Bradley is unavailable. Burnley could welcome back defenders Hannes Delcroix and Charlie Taylor. Jordan Beyer is likely to remain sidelined by a thigh issue and wingers Nathan Redmond and Luca Koleosho are long-term absentees.

Dan Lawrence has selected Chelsea who are away to Palace. Hodgson will have to decide whether to insert Brazilian youngster Matheus Franca or striker Odsonne Edouard into his attack in a bid to rejuvenate a side beaten 4-1 by Brighton last time out. Adam Wharton could be handed his full debut in midfield having come off the bench for Guehi last weekend, dropping Chris Richards into the defence. Chelsea may be without Benoit Badiashile after he come off at Villa Park, although Thiago Silva is likely to return to the XI regardless. Raheem Sterling and Christopher Nkunku face a battle to reclaim their places following positive showings by Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson in midweek. There is a chance Levi Colwill will be fit while Robert Sanchez has made a partial return to training. Reece James and Wesley Fofana remain among their long list of injured players.

Jon Evans has selected Luton who are at home to Sheffield United. Luton Town defender Teden Mengi is a doubt after injuring his ankle during training. New signing Daiki Hashioka is not yet ready to be involved, while defender Mads Andersen is still recovering from a calf problem. Sheffield United are without goalkeeper Ivo Grbic under concussion protocols but welcome Rhian Brewster back following his suspension. Oli McBurnie may recover from a calf issue, while Max Lowe remains a doubt.
