LMS Season 3 GW3 Preview

GW3 is about to start, and at the time of writing this is how it stands…

12 players have backed Man City who are at home to Burnley. Manchester City's Erling Haaland could be involved for the first time since 6 December following a foot problem.

Ederson and John Stones are fit, Manuel Akanji may return and Kevin De Bruyne awaits his first league start since suffering a hamstring injury at Burnley on the opening weekend of the season. Burnley are expected to give a debut to striker David Datro Fofana, who has joined on loan from Chelsea.

9 players have backed Tottenham who are at home to Brentford. Ange Postecoglou is missing three important players again, as Spurs skipper Son Heung-min remains on Asian Cup duty with South Korea, while midfield duo Pape Sarr and Yves Bissouma are still away at the Africa Cup of Nations. Alejo Veliz (knee), Manor Solomon (knee) and Giovani Lo Celso (thigh) are sidelined too, but Tottenham fans welcomed the return of James Maddison as a substitute last week, after his absence with an ankle injury since November. Ben Davies was also back on the bench.

6 players have backed Crystal Palace who are at home to Sheffield United. Crystal Palace's Michael Olise is fit after a thigh injury and could feature for the first time in 2024. However, fellow midfielder Cheick Doucoure and defender Rob Holding remain out with injury. All seven Premier League fixtures between Crystal Palace and Sheffield United have been won by either side without conceding a goal.

4 players have picked West Ham who are at home to Bournemouth. Kalvin Phillips could make his debut for the Irons after sealing a loan move from Manchester City. Lucas Paqueta remains injured and it would be a surprise to see either Said Benrahma or Maxwel Cornet feature as transfer speculation swirls.

1 player has backed Brighton who are away to Luton. Luton are boosted by the return of Jordan Clark and Gabe Osho, who both missed the FA Cup win over Everton. Cauley Woodrow is available despite breaking his hand at Goodison Park, but Mads Andersen, Jacob Brown, Issa Kabore and Marvellous Nakamba remain out. Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has no fresh injury concerns in his squad. Solly March, Joel Veltman and Julio Enciso are long-term absentees, while Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra are away on international duty.

1 player has backed Arsenal who are away to Forest. Nuno has the trio Taiwo Awoniyi, Anthony Elanga and Felipe back in training but this game could come too soon for them to feature. Several players are at the Africa Cup of Nations, while loanee Nuno Tavares is ineligible against his parent club. Arsenal's Declan Rice could return from the tight hamstring that prompted his substitution against Crystal Palace. Gabriel, who came off in the same game, will also be assessed but Thomas Partey remains out with injury.
